Email Element
Email elements are used to select and define the email creative you want to deploy at a particular phase of the campaign.
You can add as many Email elements to a campaign as you need. For example, your first Email element could be to send an initial mail shot, your second Email element could be to send a reminder email, and your third Email element could be an offer triggered by any responses to the initial mailings.
Use Email elements to select the email creatives you want to use, and add them to campaigns.
Note: |
Email creatives cannot be created in Campaign Designer, they only be selected and their fields populated with free text or mapped to database columns or to system variables. Use Creative Builder to create your email creatives. Email creatives are global, which means they are available for use in any campaign. |
(To create and edit creatives, select Creative Builder from the navigation panel on the left of the screen. See Creative Builder for full details.)
Email elements could be in any of the following states:
- Defined (complete)
- Incomplete (partly defined)
- Undefined
The procedure for setting up Email elements is slightly different depending on whether the element is undefined or defined, expand the relevant section below for detailed instructions:

If the address required is not available in the list, it can be entered manually, see below. If a required domain / sub-domain is not available it must be configured for use in Email Manager first. If you do not have access to the Email Manager client please contact Alterian support. | | Manual entry of the sender email address. The address entered, will be validated against and must match the list of domains / sub-domains that have been configured in Email Manager. If you do not have access to the Email Manager client please contact Alterian support. | | Map to database column, for example, recipient email address. | | Variable - select a campaign variable to populate the Email creative variable. |
- Click the Refresh button (top right) to refresh all values on the screen with the latest creative settings. This will remove any existing configuration.
